Children’s Homes

Gollapudi is a small, rural village in Andhra Pradesh. In the heart of the village nearly 100 boys and 30 girls live in two simple but lively hostels.

The children at the hostels come mostly from desperately poor families in the surrounding villages where many people rely on subsistence farming to survive. Families are large, often without enough food to go round; education is in many cases a luxury low down on parents’ list of priorities. To send even just one child to the hostels to be cared for and given a place at school can make a difference to a whole family, not just for a limited few years, but for generations to come as doors are opened to a brighter future. …

There is an infectious sense of joy and a friendship within the hostels. The children of all ages quickly adapt to the welcoming environment, learning to live together and help each other as they grow into confident, capable young adults. Whatever awaits them in the years to come, they know that they have been given a great start at Gollapudi.

By sponsoring a child you could touch the life of that child and give them an opportunity they would never have had.

Sponsors contribute as much or as little as they are able in order to support a child in India through Christ for All in Andhra Pradesh. A minimum monthly donation of just £7.50 will pay for accommodation, including the care of the wardens and other staff, three healthy meals a day, and all school expenses. More will cover other costs, such as clothing, upkeep of the hostels and Christmas gifts.
